Happy Halloween! :)

I really love Halloween.  Not the evil side, but the cute little side of costumes, candy, and decorating with pumpkins, etc..  It has to be one of my favorite holidays along with Valentine's Day.  I'm finding that holidays are so much more fun with little ones around.  I finished my goody bags for Jack's Halloween party and I think that they turned out ok.  I think that most everyone liked them and they were fairly simple to make.  I got the inspiration from these iron-on images made from scrapbook stuff, but really wanted to liven it up by making my own patterns and using materials (felt, ricrac, etc.) instead of just using someone's image.  I also added everyone's name to the bag.  I filled them with toddler appropriate goodies...teddy grahams, animal crackers, Halloween stickers, fruit snacks, a whacky looking straw and a Halloween cup.  Hopefully the bags didn't fall apart before they got home with the kid.  LOL.

We went to his Halloween party and it was so nice to see how he interacts with kids that are his own age.  We had no idea.  He is a ham!  We found out that all morning he and his best bud Counsel (sitting to the left of Jack) had discovered that they could crawl under the tables and pretend for it to be a tunnel.  Turns out that they would crawl through and at the end just die with laughter.  Hey, at least he's having fun and not waiting at the door for me!  The party was hilarious as I think that every child in the room had orange fingers from the Cheetos.  What is it about Cheetos?  My Mom has got Jack hooked on them.  I would venture to say that he will get them from her tonight when he Trick or Treats at my parent's house.  Anyway, here's a pic of the party in calm mode.  And, might I add that calm mode doesn't last long with these little guys.

Aren't they adorable?  Well, I'm off to get some scrapbook projects done.  Hope you all are enjoying your kits (or will be very soon).  Have a safe Halloween!

Random Musings

Happy Friday.  Wow, what a busy week!  I was up doing laundry until about 3:30 this morning.  I shall pay for it today, I'm sure.  Just dropped Jack off at Mother's Morning Out and today is his first official little school picture.  What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall.

We've got kits out the ying yang here and hopefully they'll be in your house before too long so I can walk again.  Oh, and we will be doing the add-ons again as they were a huge success.  I think that we may have one left for this month.  And, you guys are ROCKIN' the goody bags.  Holy moly!  I can just see our inventory melting away!  So awesome, thanks guys.  I really tried to hook you up with the good stuff.

And, to leave you with a few pics, here are our latest pics from Keith.  We went to have Eli's first picture taken and somehow I got roped into a picture or two, but I love that Jack is half-way smiling with me.  He's a hard one to get to smile for pictures.  Giggles and smiles all the time at home, but put a camera out and he's Mr. Serious.  Eli is giggling all the time here lately.  Anyway, can't you tell that I didn't come prepared to have my pic taken?  Hair looks are greasy-grimy!  I'm wearing a baby doll dress that Sean says makes me look pregnant.  Oh, Sean, didn't you know?  Just kidding!  I'm not pregnant, but would be happy if I were...enough said.  Definitely not picture material! Yucko.  Isn't Eli growing so stinkin' fast?!

Well, I'm off to start on homemade (yes, I said homemade) goody bags for Jack's Halloween party on Monday.  Well, the bags aren't homemade just the decoration on it.  Let's hope that some creative craftiness comes my way while making them.  I have a vision, but once I get started it may so not be the vision I had!  You know how that goes!  If they are cute, I'll post a pic.  If not, then we won't mention them again. ;)

So, what are your plans for the weekend?  Oh, and our hearts go out to our customers in Southern California with the wild fires.  Man, that's some tough stuff!  Stay safe.

*Jack and his Great-Grandpa.  Jack just walked right over there and hopped up beside him at his bday party.  Love this pic as it shows the difference in generations.

So, what's happening around here today:
1)  Rain, rain, rain...all day and hopefully all night.

2)  Great day to stay inside and scrapbook while the boys are taking their naps.

3)  Stalking the UPS dude.  Scenic Route is coming any minute.  I've only checked its progress on the UPS site 15 times already. :)

4)  No tennis tonight...bummer.

5)  Played tennis yesterday and won...felt good!  Glad to be back to playing singles!

6)  Working on Jack's Halloween goody bags for his party next week.

7)  Freezer and refrigerator decided that they wanted to play dead after only three short-lived years...another bummer.  Here's hoping that it's nothing major.

8)  Kits are ready to roll once the UPS dude arrives.

9)  No dirty laundry to be found in this house!   Holy moly!

10)  UPS man is here...gotta go!

Happy rainy Monday!

Where to begin?

Holy cow.  What a week!  We are still trying to get all of the kits packed and ready to ship.  We had a product arrive a day late and wham it threw everything off.  So, our Saturday is being spent packaging (probably the next couple of days, too!).  If you will, just imagine Sean sitting in front of the television watching college football and assembling boxes at the moment.  Yep, that's our Saturday!  We're all still in jammies and I think that Jack is even partaking in the packaging activities.  I probably need to do a bit of quality control before the kits ship, huh?  So, if you for some reason end up with a Matchbox car, Thomas the Train or whatever else in  your kit, please let me know as I'm sure my kid will be missing them.  Ha.  Anyway, this kit is dreamy and I can't wait for you all to get them.  We have officially sold out of this kit, but we are thinking of restocking this one.   The project kit is also selling well!   I hope you all enjoy them!  You still have until Monday to place an order for the project kit and/or the goody bag and receive the free shipping with your monthly kit.  Speaking of the goody bag, I've had several folks wondering what was in them.  Well, it wouldn't be called a goody bag if I told you!  :)  OK, here's a hint.  I'm looking at one right now that has an entire pack of River City Rubber Works coaster cards, an entire pack of Queen and Co. alphabet plastics, 6x6 paper, pack of Bazzill large brads and several other items...probably a retail value of about $15-20.  Can't beat that for $5.  I have a few left for the month so let me know quick if you want one in with your kit this month.  Remember, I'm trying to get rid of this stuff and it is GOOD stuff.  We just have no room for it anymore!

Design Team news...still accepting applications.  You can send several of your layouts to me to be entered into the contest-- michelle@scrapsinabox.com

Have a great weekend!

Stay tuned for our regularly scheduled program :)

I promise that I'm still here.  We have been slammed this month so I'll try to update tomorrow. Here's an unedited pic from Jack's party on Saturday with his cousin Asher.  So cute.  Be back soon!

Friday Fun

Wow.  This week has flown by!  The site has been updated with a very poor picture of the kit.  I had to take it late at night so the lighting stunk and I didn't have time to jazz it up in Photoshop yet either.  Here lately life is just a blur around here. :)  So, the picture just doesn't do this kit justice by any means.  Word must have gotten out that we were featuring the Salem line from Scenic Route because these kits are hotcakes!  We have just a few remaining and they haven't even shipped yet.  We hope to ship on the 17th so there is still time to take advantage of adding on the goody bag and/or the project kit for free shipping.  The link to order the Grab Bag is now up on the site.  I was up until about 3am this morning getting the Project Kit ready to order on the website and boom! somehow the enitre page got erased.  Still haven't figured out what I did so Jason will have to get that page up and running again.  However, if you are interested in the Project Kit  I have posted it below with instructions on ordering.  The Grab Bag and the Project Kit ship free with your monthly kit.  If you are ordering either of these products and are already a customer please just email us and tell us which one to include in your shipment rather than purchasing from the website.  That will prevent you from having to enter all of your information and credit card information since we already have that on file.  If you are a new customer then simply order from the site or email us at the links below .

Website Maintenance

Some of you may be experiencing some outages with our website.  Hopefully everything will be back up and running properly by this evening.  If not, please email me if you need anything! :)
More to come on the project kit (see post below).  I was hoping to have it up last night, but Jack took a pretty bad fall and that was my main priority.  He's fine now, but what a scary, scary moment!  Anyway, what great response we've received about the grab bags and project kits!!!!  Thanks, guys!

Lot's of Good Stuff Today!

1)  Happy Monday!

2)  The October kit ROCKS THE HOUSE!  By far it is one of my favorites for the year.  Totally gets me in the mood for Fall, Halloween and all those fall colors!  Sidenote:  Congrats to Cathy K. who won the October giveaway.  We had planned on using the cute little owl line from Sassafrass Lass, but alas (ha), they were delayed in receiving it to their warehouse so we had to put that one off for another month.  Still though, Cathy guessed correctly so she'll be receiving some really fun stuff in her kit this month.  See how easy it is to win stuff around here?  Anyway, we will be featuring the Salem line from Scenic Route this month along with some really fun embellishments including their date labels, diecut arrows and journaling blocks, and some really FUN chipboard stars.  Should have a pic of the kit for you very soon.  Here are a few sneakies for the paper in this month's kit though...

3)  My SECRET that I've been telling you about...
Well, it's almost finished, but I'll go ahead and tell you what it is.  Hope that our little Techy can get the website all decked out for it to debut tonight but we shall see.  Anyway, we have been planning on starting live online webisode classes for sometime now, but time has been a huge factor; especially with another baby!  LOL.  So, we are going to go ahead and offer the PROJECT KITS along with full detailed instructions for each project.  We hope to have a new and exciting project each  month!  For this month we will be making some really cute coffee sleeve albums with great Making Memories Fall and Halloween papers.  This kit just tickles me silly!  I've had a blast putting the kit together and the project, as well.  Most months the kits will run only around $10 or so.  Not bad for a class and project in a box, huh?   I will try to post some pictures of the project here on the blog later tonight if Techy is not finished with the order page yet.  How's that sound?

4)  Another new addition to the SIAB family: GRAB BAGS!  Most months we have an undetermined amount of extras remaining in our inventory so we have decided to offer them to you all so that inventory doesn't continue to take over more rooms in my house!  LOL.  If you guys could only see my house...it's just one big scrapbook warehouse that we just live in (according to my husband).  So, I need to make some room for new stuff that is constantly coming in!  Help me out, please.  :)  The grab bags are a super duper fantastic deal.  Each grab bag is different and I can GUARANTEE you that you will not be disappointed in these!  We are talking (a sampling of what you might find)  Bazzill cardstock (bling included), whole packs of MME chipboard shapes, hardware, pattern paper and just about any type of embellishment that you can think of!  These will retail for $7 each month.  Once they are gone they are gone.  My house will thank you.

5)  All of the new above items will ship for free with your monthly kit.  You must order these before the 15th of each month to guarantee free shipping with your monthly kit.  We should have an order page up ASAP so stay tuned!

Well, off for nap time!  We had a super time in Huntsville this weekend!  Loved meeting all of you guys!
